His wife, being an alumnus of CU, was also paramount in choosing to move the family to Denver from Chicago, IL. Education

Dr. Barker earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. He then completed his combined training in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Rush University Medical Center and John H. Stroger, Jr. (Cook County) Hospital in Chicago, IL. Dr. Barker was able to train under distinguished breast reconstructive surgeon Dr. Anuja Antony, and prestigious cosmetic surgeon Dr. John Q. Cook.

In order to pursue the most comprehensive training in cosmetic plastic surgery, additional instruction was completed with nationally known and award-winning surgeons Dr. Rocco Piazza and Dr. Marcello Antunes at the Piazza Center for Plastic Surgery and Advanced Skin Care in Austin, TX.

Dr. Barker has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters and has had the opportunity to present at national conferences. Today, he uses his extensive plastic and reconstructive surgery knowledge to help patients around the greater Denver, CO, area achieve their individual medical and surgical goals.
